I have had the privilege of teaching children since 1988. I began teaching kindergarten and preschool in Big Rapids, Michigan. Then I moved to Memphis, Michigan where I taught second grade for seven years. I came to Anchor Bay in 1997 where I have taught kindergarten, third, fourth, and fifth grades. I have a Bachelors degree from Central Michigan University, a Masters degree from Nova Southeastern University, as well as additional graduate hours from Oakland University in the area of reading.
My style of teaching is one where I take the best pieces from the many different programs, curriculums, and philosophies that I have been exposed to throughout my career and select what best matches the needs of the learners in front of me. I believe that it is my job to meet the varied needs of all the students in my classroom. Besides being a teacher, I also continue to be a learner, studying ways to improve my teaching.
I live along the waters of the St. Clair River in Algonac. When I’m not teaching, I spend time doing crafts, figuring out brain puzzles, reading mysteries, and trying out new recipes. I also like to spend time outdoors gardening or walking scenic trails.
I enjoy talking with parents. Please do not hesitate to ask questions, express concerns or to let me know what I am doing that is working well for you and your child.
Warmly,
Mary Ann Przybylski (pronounced priz-bill-ski)
